Properly Manage Your Time and you are on the Highway to Success
Are you a writer, an internet marketer, a graphics designer or a person who does a lot of work on the computer and the internet? If you are, the chances of getting distracted while working are high. Imagine trying to research ideas for a new blog and a message from a friend keeps popping up, the inclination to reply keeps increasing and when you do, down the toilet drain goes time.
To use the internet as well as other feats of life, you need proper time management. To many, even those who have been active for a while, they believe time management to be difficult and expensive. There are expensive and difficult approaches to time management, but there are also easy and affordable approaches to proper time management, the majority of which are highlighted below:
1. Create A To-Do List
Creating a To-Do list is a cheap and effective way of properly managing time. All you need is a list compiled in Microsoft Word or if you’re the old-fashioned type a pen and a piece of paper. Each night before the next day, create a To-Do list for the day with tasks to be accomplished alongside the importance of the task.
A To-Do list is not just a list of tasks to be accomplished for the day but a good motivation, showing you what has been done and what needs to be done.
2. Create a Schedule
This can be used alongside a To-Do List because crossing out tasks from the To-Do list without a time frame can lead to some tasks taking more time than necessary and at the end of the day, we end up doing just a few tasks than we originally planned.
An example of this is:
- Writing 3 articles: 9:00 am – 11:00am
- Create a new Ad Code for my blog: 11:15 – 11:45 am
This way you not only have tasks, but you also have time-frames, allowing you to manage time properly.
3. Make Use of a Desktop Calendar
For an internet user, an online entrepreneur who has problems with managing time the technical method of using a To-Do list and a schedule should come in handy. If you’re good with managing your time and staying on your tasks, you can use a simpler approach of using a desktop calendar.
A desktop calendar is a large-sized calendar which allows you to input your tasks daily and in more details. Desktop calendars are available online and in-office supply stores basically for $5 making them a good way to manage time as well.
4. Make Use of an Alarm Clock
This is one of the cheapest ways of managing time as we all have this in our homes and workspaces. The alarm clock does a lot with helping you manage your time properly as you can set a repetitive one hour block alarm which keeps you in the know about not only the time but when to start and stop a task as well as when to round up a task which is not completed.
5. Think of the Money
Money is a great motivation we all know that and when you think of how much you can make from completing tasks for yourself or a client, you would be eager to work. The more you work, the more you earn, so you need to think of the cost of being active or inactive and put yourself to work.
The truth of the matter is that all these time management tools are ripe for the taking only if you would decide to use them. “No matter how rich or poor anyone is, there is one factor that is common to all and that is time.” We all have 24 hours and if you effectively manage your time with the tools at your disposal, then you are sure to make the best of your day.
